My work focuses on astrophysics research software and the entire ecosytem around research software. I am the Editor of the Astrophysics Source Code Library (ASCL), and I have organized sessions on software at AAS, EAS, and ADASS meetings. At least one of these sessions involved cake (very tasty!).

I participate in various cross-disciplinary efforts such as CodeMeta, CITATION.cff, and Research Data Alliance to improve software citation, research transparency, and recognition for those who enable science with their computational contributions. I founded the SciCodes consortium, and am one of the organizers of the Virtual Astronomy Software Talks (VAST) seminar series.

I am a member of the International Astronomical Union, and a member and Fellow of the American Astronomical Society. I'm also on the Astronomy Picture of the Day Evaluation and Advisory Committee.

When I'm not thinking about or working with astro codes, I often wander around looking at and taking photos of wildlife, and I sometimes post bad animal videos (the animals are fine; it's the videos that are bad) to YouTube.
